SUMMER FOODS AND IT S IMPORTANCE

Years ago we ate food  items that were readily available in each season and region.  Foods that are suitable for each season are those  that existed in nature and were cultivated by ancestors.  But today all food items are readily available at all times and everywhere. So we choose the food  we like.  There people are not aware of weather or health.  It is in this situation that summer food becomes important.  Health problems that in summer can be minimize through diet.  The blog  “summer foods and its importance and its importance” helps to stay healthy in summer also.

           Food habits  need to be changed according to climate changes. In summer  body temperature increases and loses a lot of minerals and water through  sweat . Therefore,  we need to be  very careful while choosing summer food. Drink  plenty of water. We heard that,   should drink two liters of water daily,  but have to calculate that one  litre per twenty Kg. Drinks like cola do more harm than good and should be  avoided. we should choose the drinks like tender coconut water, lemon juice and buttermilk etc.  Juices and vegetable soups  can be used instead of tea and coffee. 

          Intestinal juice production is low in summer. So avoid fried food items which are difficult  to digest. Do not skip breakfast.  Breakfast must  consist of any  legumes and grains.  Choose homely food for lunch including  vegetable soup or vegetable salad and leafy vegetables.  Food containing anthocyanin pigments like pumpkin ash gourd carrot cucumber  etc. must be included in your daily diet.   Sprouted  lentils  cooked or not cooked can be used instead of bakery  snacks in  the evening.   Use  salads  as   night meals.

       Curd and buttermilk:  They help you remain cool in summer heat and are packed with calcium protein and contain probiotics  that keep the digestive system running smoothly.

Gooseberry:   It is a rich source of vitamin C.  It  reverses the effect of ageing caused  due to sun rays.

  Tender coconut water:  It contains vitamins, minerals, calcium,potassium, magnesium. Which replenishes the  body  with the nutrients lost due to sweating and dehydration.

Lemonade:  Give cooling  freshness of lemonade. 

            Fresh summer fruits: watermelon muskmelon, pears,papaya,plums,  berries, mango, are the best choice  

            Small meals throughout the day.

            Dark, leafy greens:   in summer these  protect skin from sun rays.

            Fresh summer vegetables:  Tomato, zucchini,  broccoli, cauliflower,and cucumber.

                   Eating the right fruits can help you stay cool during the summer season.
